I mentioned before that I don't portray buildings in my art very often, aside from barns.  Out of all of the barns I have portrayed, I've never actually painted one; they have always been done in pencil. This is the first barn I've done in oil. 

This particular barn I observed in the beautiful wine country of California.  I usually do a show in this area every year and have done so for over a decade, but it was canceled this year for the first time in its 30 year history because of the virus.  As a tribute to the show, Cattlemen's Western Art Show, I decided to give this particular barn an attempt in oil.  I must admit, I'm pleased with how it came out and now wonder why I've never tried to paint one before!
